Halloween Math Mystery Pictures (Grades 1–5)
Spooky, self-checking math practice for October: every correct answer shades one square of the grid, and a pumpkin, spider, skeleton, black cat, owl or full moon slowly appears. Pick a picture and a grade below, then hit Print. Free, no sign-up, answer key included, US Letter or A4.
Pick a Halloween picture
Each button opens the worksheet with that picture and the right math for the grade. Colored pictures need crayons; black and white ones only a pencil.
How Halloween math mystery pictures work
- Each problem has a letter. The answer is the row, the letter is the column.
- Kids shade (or color) that square on the grid.
- When all problems are solved, the Halloween picture is complete – wrong answers stand out right away.
Great for
Halloween class parties, October math centers, early finishers, sub plans and homework. Grade 1 practices addition and subtraction within 10, grade 2 adding and subtracting to 100 and times tables, grade 3 multiplication and division, grades 4–5 two-step problems and order of operations. Set the number of sheets up to 60 and every student gets different problems with the same picture.
Halloween worksheet FAQ
Are the Halloween worksheets really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no email, no limit. Print as many as you like or save them as a PDF.
Which grades are they for?
Grades 1 to 5. The pumpkin, spider, skeleton, moon and candle work for every grade; the black cat and owl use bigger grids, so they start at grade 2.
Do I need color printing?
No. The worksheet prints in black and white; for colored pictures each problem carries a color number and kids use crayons.
